The Foundations of Compassionate ABA Program

When it comes to supporting children diagnosed with autism, high-quality care doesn’t start with the therapy session—it starts with the training behind the clinician. At Children’s Specialized ABA, we’re proud to offer something that sets us apart: a one-of-a-kind onboarding and training initiative called The Foundations of Compassionate ABA Program.

This is an opportunity to learn about us—who we are, what we stand for, and why this program is so vital to the families we support and the professionals we empower.

The Foundations of Compassionate ABA Program

The Foundations of Compassionate ABA is our clinical onboarding program designed to give our direct care staff—primarily behavior technicians—the tools they need to deliver exceptional ABA therapy. But we go a step further. Our program doesn’t just focus on the technical skills required to implement an ABA program. It centers on compassion, engagement, and client dignity.

We believe that the best ABA therapy is not just effective—it’s kind, respectful, and client-centered. Every child is unique, and we want every behavior technician on our team to feel confident not just in what they’re doing, but also in why they’re doing it.

A Tailored Approach to ABA Training

We understand that every behavior technician brings a different level of experience to the table. That’s why our Foundations of Compassionate ABA Program offers two unique tracks:

  • 1-Week Program: For individuals who already hold a registered behavior technician certification from the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). This fast-track program focuses on reinforcing compassionate practices and familiarizing technicians with our unique approach and standards.
  • 2-Week Program: Designed for those who are new to the field. This comprehensive track includes access to our registered behavior technician training program, meeting the 40-hour training requirements set by the BACB. It also provides additional content and support to help candidates prepare for and earn their RBT certification.

Our content is tailored by location, meaning behavior technicians are trained with specific knowledge of the environment and community where they’ll be working—whether that’s in a home, center, or school setting.

A Compassionate, Hands-On Learning Experience

Training at Children’s Specialized ABA goes far beyond checking boxes. Here’s what makes our RBT training program so special:

Self-Directed Online Training Modules

Technicians have access to flexible, high-quality learning modules that meet all BACB requirements. For new hires who are not yet certified, this is the foundation for their registered behavior technician training program.

Live Learning Labs

These interactive sessions are where theory meets practice. Our learning labs focus on real-world scenarios and essential topics, including:

  • Client wellness and professionalism: Teaching technicians how to maintain safety, dignity, and professionalism in every interaction
  • Reinforcement and rapport: Highlighting the power of positive reinforcement and the importance of building trust and connection with each child
  • Behavior reduction: Training on compassionate, approved strategies for addressing challenging behaviors
  • Data collection and documentation: Ensuring behavior technicians understand how to collect accurate data and write high-quality session notes
  • Skill acquisition: Teaching methods for helping children learn new skills, including prompting techniques and fading strategies
  • Session expectations: Pulling it all together—what a strong, safe, and engaging ABA therapy session looks like

Daily Huddles and Ongoing Feedback

Daily check-ins provide support, while personalized coaching ensures every behavior technician builds both competence and confidence.

Competency Checks

We don’t just hope our staff is ready—we ensure it. Competency checks are built into our program to confirm that each technician is prepared to provide compassionate, high-quality ABA care.

Why This Matters to Families

For parents of children on the autism spectrum, trusting someone with your child’s care is deeply personal. You want to know that the person working with your child is more than just qualified—you want someone who cares.

The Foundations of Compassionate ABA ensures that every member of our team begins their journey with a deep understanding of both the science and the heart behind ABA therapy. Our program helps create clinicians who are not only technically skilled but also genuinely invested in your child’s growth and well-being.

When you choose an ABA program with Children’s Specialized ABA, you’re choosing a provider who believes that how we deliver therapy is just as important as what we teach.

Why This Matters to Future RBTs

If you’re someone looking for ABA therapy jobs or wondering where to get your registered behavior technician certification, this is the perfect place to start. Our RBT training program not only prepares you to meet industry standards—it elevates you beyond them.

Through our comprehensive, compassionate approach, you’ll learn the skills needed to work confidently with children, understand their unique needs, and become a valued member of a clinical team driven by purpose.

Whether you’re already certified or just starting your journey, we’re here to help you grow.
